Dove DermaSpa Range*

If I'm completely honest Dove is always a brand that I tend to forget about, when I'm after a new skincare product I don't tend to think about Dove first and foremost. However that is definitely going to change as I recently received their new DermaSpa range and it is amazing! The range is Dove's most scientifically advanced skincare range and combines dermatological care with spa-like formulations. The range is divided into two parts, the Goodness3 range which is designed to smooth the skins texture and the Uplifted+ range which supplies moisture to restore the skin's natural elasticity.

The Goodness3 Body Cream is one of my favourites from the collection, it's a super thick consistency and really makes your skin feel soft and nourished. It also smells amazing! I was sent two of the new hand creams, one is a Goodness3 Hand Cream and the other is an Intensive Hand Cream, I love the Goodness3 one, it again smells really good and made my hands really soft without being greasy, personally I found the Intensive hand cream too heavy for my hands but it would be great for slightly older hands or those who get very dry hands, my mum tried it and she loved it! The Uplifted+ Satin Smooth Body Oil was one of the products I was most excited to try as I haven't had much experience with body oils and I absolutely love it! Its not at all greasy and has a really nice strong scent to it, its perfect for using in the winter months. Finally is the Uplifted+ Massaging Roll-On, I wasn't sure what exactly to expect with this product. The three massaging balls feel really nice on the skin and the gel soaks in really well however in my opinion it just feels like another moisturiser. I've only been trying it for just over a week so I will continue to use it and update you guys in a few weeks!

Overall I'm really happy with the range, and I would definitely recommend you giving it a try! Well done Dove!

Its been ages since I bought any new skincare so I thought I'd do some mini reviews on some of the stuff I received for Christmas and my birthday!

Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask
This mask has been on my wishlist for ages and I finally received it for Christmas. Its basically a clay based charcoal mask that drys on your skin and draws out any impurities. I've been loving using this, it makes my skin feel really clear and refreshed!

Lush Dark Angels Cleanser
I've been wanting to give this a try for a while but was always a little scared because of the black colour and texture of it. However as long as it is used in a bathroom its not at all as messy as it seems. Its basically a spongey black mixture that you break a little bit off and make a paste on your hands before applying to your face. Its quite exfoliating so I don't use this everyday but its nice to use a couple of times a week for a more deeper cleanse.

La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I 
I'm a massive fan of the Effaclar Duo so I was intrigued to try more from the range. This is basically a treatment that you apply directly to blemish prone areas and it clears imperfections and reduces the mark they leave too. I love this, its very lightweight and I have definitely noticed a big reduction in the amount of blemishes I have and also how long they last!

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+
I'm an avid user of this and couldn't really be without it! I use it as a lightweight moisturiser and it is just so good! It clears blemishes and also makes my skin much less oily. I would highly recommend giving this a try if you haven't already!

Lush Tea Tree Toner
Finally I received the Lush tea tree toner. I haven't had a huge amount of luck with toners before, they just never seem to do much for my skin and always seem a bit pointless! However this one has been amazing. Tea Tree is an antiseptic and so this toner is great at helping spots heal super quickly, finally a toner that actually does something!

LABSONIC Sonic Cleansing Brush - £64.99 £43.32*

A couple of months ago I mentioned that I would be trialling a new Sonic Cleaning Brush from LABSONIC. I now use this twice a week and wouldn't be without it, it's so good for deep cleaning and really leaves my skin so clean and refreshed. The Sonic Cleaning Brush is great for deep and gentle cleansing, sweeps away impurities and clear pores, more effective cleansing for blemish prone and problem skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, imperfections and blemishes. I have quite blemish prone skin and I'm never without a few blemishes. I've tried so many products to help get rid of them but not many have worked quite as well as this. It hasn't completely gotten rid of my blemishes but it has significantly reduced the amount of them and my skin is certainly getting rid of them quicker.

The brush comes with four heads; 2 x dermabrasion head - perfect for exfoliation, hydrating head - great for moisturisers and the wrinkle eraser head - great for eye creams and serums. The dermabrasion head is by far my favourite and the one I get the most use out of, I tend to use this with creamy/foaming cleansers and it works so well! Definitely a great alternative to the pricier Clarisonic!

Boots currently have these retailing at £43.32, a third off the normal price of £64.99!

REN Vita Mineral Active 7 Radiant Eye Gel - 15ml £20.00*

I've never really been into eye care, it's definitely the one step of my skincare regime that I'm not bothered about skipping which I know is really bad. However I jumped at the chance to try this eye gel from REN. It's a cooling, hydrating gel that revives and brightens the delicate eye-area while minimising the appearance of puffiness and dark circles, perfect for a student who has barely any sleep on a regular basis! I've been using this day and night for the past week and I have been absolutely loving it.

The gel is really light and not sticky at all, I just apply a little onto my ring finger and then pat all the way around the eye area. It feels so good on the skin, it's very cooling which immediately makes my eyes feel more awake. While I haven't noticed a huge difference looks wise this definitely helps me feel more awake! It's also made me more interested in products for the eye area, how was I ignoring it for so long?! I would definitely recommend giving this eye gel a go, it really is so good for students or anyone who is lacking in sleep ha.

HealGel Face 50ml - £48.00*

I'm always a bit dubious about so-called 'anti-aging' products as to be honest while you can look after your skin really well I don't think any product can make your skin younger however that's just my opinion. But there was something about the quirky packaging of this HealGel Face that really made me want to try it. HealGel says it is an exceptional anti-ageing formula designed to smooth, firm and replenish to give instantly plumper, revitalised looking skin. 

It's basically a serum-like gel that feels really lightweight on the skin. When I first applied this I must admit I wasn't expecting a huge amount as it just looked like any other serum however I was really surprised that it left my skin look really healthy and a lot perkier than it did before. I use this in the evening before my usual moisturiser and my skin has been looking so much better. It may be a combination of things but I honestly think that this has contributed a lot to it! Although it's a bit on the pricier side at an eye-watering £48.00 for the full size of 50ml however if you can afford it I would definitely recommend giving it a go!

One of my favourite things to do has to be applying a mask and then snuggling up in bed to watch a movie, so I'm always on the look out for new masks. This particular one couldn't have arrived at a better time. It's from Akane, a brand that I've never tried anything from before, and it's a super hydrating mask designed to leave skin fresh, hydrated and stress-free. It contains apple from the Japanese Akane tree, hyaluronic acid and black tea extract; the ingredient I was most excited about was the hyaluronic acid which is also whats in Hydraluron (a product my skin seriously couldn't live without) and is basically what keeps skin hydrated and supple.

The first thing I noticed about this mask was the smell, it literally smells like sour apple skittles, which personally I love!! The texture and consistency was not what I was expecting at all, its very silky on the skin and quite thin and lightweight. For a product thats meant to hydrate the skin I was expecting it to be much thicker however I'm so glad it isn't as it makes is perfect for my oily skin. You're meant to apply this mask before bed, sleep with it on and then wash it off in the morning. I'm not going to lie, it did feel really weird going to sleep with something on my face and there wasn't much left of it to wash off in the morning. However it left my skin feeling amazing; really soft and just looking so much healthier! I would highly recommend this mask and I can definitely see it becoming a firm favourite of mine.

REN No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm 100ml - £23.00*

You guys know what a huge fan of REN I am, all of their skincare I have tried has done wonders for my skin! So I was pretty intrigued when I heard about a range called Rosa Centifolia, as I've only really tried their ClearCalm range (which is amazing btw). I was asked if I wanted to try something from the range and I chose the No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm as I've heard so much about cleansing balms and I'm yet to try one. 

The first thing I absolutely loved about this cleansing balm was the texture, it feels so soft and silky on your face, not at all drying yet still really light at the same time. I rubbed a little between my hands and then massaged it onto my face, and it just melts away my makeup. I haven't tried removing my eye makeup with it because I'm not a huge fan of putting cleansing products near my eyes however I think it would be really good at removing eye makeup. I then wipe it off with a damp cloth and it really does leave skin super soft and clean! The only thing I didn't like about this product was the packaging, because the balm is so thick it is really difficult to squeeze out of the tube. However it's only the 100ml that comes in a tube, the 150ml comes in a tub so if you think you're going to like it I would definitely recommend the larger size so that it comes in a tub. This balm would definitely suit all skin types, despite the fact I have oily skin it didn't feel heavy at all!

Have you tried any of the range?

I know its been a long time coming but August has been such a crazy month for me. I've been away to Morocco with my family then I went inter-railing across Europe for what was meant to be 3 weeks. However I had to return after only 2 weeks as we had to put down our beautiful dog who was only 8 years old. I have since spent the past week ill with quite a sore throat infection, I'm still not completely better but I've missed my blog. So blog posts will resume but just not as frequently as before. I hope this is okay with you guys! Anyway on with the second part of my skincare routine.

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron
I bought after Caroline Hirons recommended it and despite having oily skin this works absolute wonders at hydrating my skin. I tend to use it twice a week as I find thats all my skin needs and plus it is pretty pricey at £24.99. However this tube has lasted ages as you only need to use a small amount.

REN Hydra-Calm Global Protection Day Cream
Despite this being a day cream, I found it a bit heavy for me to use under makeup so instead I use it at night. Its a really lovely day cream that soothes and calms my sensitive skin overnight, it's not at all greasy either.

Alpha-H Liquid Gold
There was so much hype for this when it came out but I have to admit it is firm part of my skincare routine. It contains glycolic acid and reduces the appearance of scars and blemishes and just makes skin look really refreshed. I use this once a week.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo
I absolutely love this treatment. I use it every morning under makeup and it is so good at reducing spots and keeping oil at bay. So light on the skin and its one of the things I can honestly say is definitely helping to improve my skin.

REN Glycolatic Radiance Renewal Mask
I love using this mask, I tend to use it once a week and its basically a sticky orange mask that contains fruit acids that again reduce the appearance of blemishes and just leaves skin much smoother.

REN ClearCalm 3 Clarity Restoring Mask
I know I haven't photographed this but thats because I have been using samples of it and have only just got around to ordering a full-size bottle, however i thought it deserved a mention. Its basically a clay based mask that I use twice a week and it reduces the appearance of blemishes so much. I'm no even kidding there is such a noticeable difference after using this mask. Definitely a firm favourite of mine!
