MoneySupermarket.com Blogger Competition - #PassionForFashion

Saturday, September 22, 2012

I recently decided to enter MoneySupermarket.com's blogger competition where each blogger has to create 5 outfits under 5 categories: Party, Office, Outdoor, Casual and First Date. Each outfit has to be under £200 and has to be able to survive the great British winter:)

PARTY
New Look Black Baroque Dress £19.99
ASOS Burgundy Heels £25.00
Topshop Hand Chain £12.50
Topshop Suede Studded Clutch £38.00
Topshop Oval Ring £8.50
= £103.99

The party category was by far my favourite category to do and I decided to choose a timeless theme. I am in love with this dress, the longer hem at the back provides a little more protection in the colder temperatures and I think paired with the burgundy heels it will make a classic outfit that can be worn year after year! The statement ring and hand harness provide a touch of luxe to the outfit, and the suede studded clutch is big enough to hold all the essentials.

OFFICE
Topshop Patterned Shorts £32.00
Topshop Cream Jumper £36.00
Chocker Black Boots £25.00
Topshop Sheer Seam Tights £8.00
Select Studded Duffle Bag £12.00
Topshop Link Chain Necklace £18.50
= £131.50

I know that all I want to wear to work during the winter is a big chunky jumper! A cream jumper like this will last you for years, I paired it with these gorgeous tapestry shorts which I think will last you from Winter through to Summer. The seam back tights and chunky link necklace smarten the outfit up and the heeled ankle boots will keep your feet warm all Winter.

OUTDOOR
ASOS Brown Chelsea Boots £40.00
Topshop Mohair Jumper £48.00
New Look Black Skinny Jeans £19.99
New Look Camo Jacket £34.99
Topshop Tooth Necklace £12.50
= £155.48

The outdoor theme was another favourite of mine, I couldn't wait to pair another chunky knit with a camo jacket, on trend and will keep you warm the whole of Winter. Chelsea boots have kept on trend from last Winter and again will keep your feet toasty throughout, plus they go with absolutely everything. I think a pair of black skinny jeans will keep you going for years and I really think they pull this whole outfit together. The tooth necklace adds a bit of glamour to the outfit without being overbearing.

CASUAL
New Look Teal Jumper £19.99
New Look Black PU Panel Leggings £12.99
ASOS Wedge Hi-Top Trainers £33.50
Topshop Mesh Chain Necklace £15.00
River Island Black Watch £30.00
eBay Grey Holdall £15.99
= £127.47

For the casual theme I paired yet another chunky knit, this time in teal. a beautiful jewel colour which adds interest to any causal outfit, with leather panel leggings. Leather panel leggings literally go with anything and can take you from day to night in an instant. I added some wedged hi-tops, a bold necklace and a timeless black watch to turn the outfit from boring to beautiful! The grey holdall bag will hold everything you need for a casual day out.

FIRST DATE
Topshop Beaded Tee £36.00
Topshop Acid Jeans £38.00
New Look Nude Flats £7.99
Miss Selfridge Mink Biker £52.00
Select Cream Studded Clutch £8.00
Topshop Oval Stone Ring £12.50
= £154.49

The first date category was by far my hardest category, there are so many types of outfits to choose from within this category. In the end I went for this beautiful jewelled top and paired it with these acid wash skinny jeans. I then added a timeless mink coloured biker jacket that will last you for years, the mink colour, different from black, adds that bit of edge to the jacket. Adding a cream studded clutch, some ballet pumps and a chunky ring, I feel this outfit is perfect for a casual first date; whether it be a meal or a trip to the cinema. This outfit will take you anywhere, whilst still being comfortable.

So there it is, my five outfits and their explanations. I hope you guys like it and let me know if you'd like me to do more outfit posts like this in the future because I really enjoyed doing them. Also make sure to leave your link below if you have also entered this competition!
